DE STIJL CHAIR
This is the De Stijl Chair inspired by the Dutch art movement of the same name. The movement was made known to me when I first bought a White Stripes album - also called De Stijl. The movement used very strong, bold lines and combined white, black, red yellow and blue.
My design looks complicated but is relatively simple. It was showcased at the 2007 graduate degree show at the University of Wolverhampton when I was still in the second year.
The seat is painted Arctic White and the frame is powder-coated matt black. The design is unique due to the angles within the frame. The armrests were made detachable to allow interchangeable laminates.
